Avenues of Altruism: The History of Manhattan, Kansas, Part One

A MAC Film
Directed by Hal Dace

Synopsis:
On March 24, 1855, Isaac Goodnow stood for the first time atop Mont Blue and beheld the future site of Manhattan, Kansas. He came to stop slavery and ended up founding the city, Kansas State University, and over 9,000 one-room school houses in Kansas. He and scores of others are remembered in this documentary film stretching from prehistoric to wild west times and from Exodusters, to the first women's suffrage referendum in history.
