Rental Guidelines

General Procedures & Guidelines
  • A contract must be completed and all details settled at least two weeks prior to the event.
  • Any deposit required must be submitted together with the completed contract.
  • Manhattan Arts Center policies must be observed and enforced by the applicant, especially the no-smoking policy.
  • A Manhattan Arts Center representative will be present at all events. At the conclusion of the event, the representative will walk through the Center with the user and evaluate the condition of the Center.
  • The Manhattan Arts Center must be cleaned and returned to its original state.
  • All trash must be taken to the dumpster behind the building after the event.
  • Any activity that may endanger the Manhattan Arts Center will not be approved.
  • The applicant is required to meet all federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations.
  • The applicant will hold the Manhattan Arts Center, Inc. harmless from any and all claims of whatsoever nature that might be asserted by third parties and which result from the use of the Manhattan Arts Center.
  • In the event of any damage or loss to the Manhattan Arts Center, the applicant will reimburse the Manhattan Arts Center, Inc.
  • All Manhattan Arts Center programs and performances are schedule priorities.
  • The Manhattan Arts Center reserves the right to refuse rental space for any event.
  • There is no pay phone in the Clarenburg Foyer, but the phone on the desk may be used by your group. Local calls only please.
Restrictions
  • Smoking is prohibited in the building.
  • Flammable materials, including live trees and boughs, straw and hay, confetti, candles or other open flames, gasoline, etc. are prohibited in the building. Please discuss any materials you plan to bring to your event when you receive your contract.
  • The use of glitter is not allowed.
  • Nothing may be affixed to the Manhattan Arts Center property. Please discuss any materials you plan to display at your event when you receive your contract.
  • Nothing may be taken from the Manhattan Arts Center property.
  • Activities may not interfere with normal operations or other activities in the Manhattan Arts Center.
Lights & Sound
  • Lights and sound equipment may or may not be available and, if used, are subject to a separate rental agreement and an additional charge.
  • Lights and sound equipment will be run by Manhattan Arts Center staff or other qualified personnel only.
  • Lights and sound available in the performance hall only.

Food & Drink

  • The use of food and drinks and the sale of concessions are subject to negotiation with the Manhattan Arts Center.
  • Cash bars must be provided by a licensed caterer.

Equipment
  • Tables and chairs are available at no extra charge. 6 ft. and 4 ft. folding, small round and large oval/round available
  • Table cloths are not provided. 
  • 140 upholstered chairs are available.
