What to Expect During an Audition

• No preparation is needed for auditions for most Manhattan Arts Center shows.
• Please arrive between 7 and 8pm either night of scheduled auditions and fill out an audition form (you can also fill out an audition form online, but you will still need to come in to audition).
• Play Audition Form
• Musical Audition Form
• Youth Audition Form
• You will typically have a chance to read through the passages from the script that the director has selected.
• All ethnicities are encouraged to audition.
• (Note: For musicals, please come prepared to sing a song no longer than 2 minutes, and bring sheet music if you would like accompaniment. Also, while not all roles in musicals require dancing, please wear comfortable clothes and shoes for a short dance audition.)
• Please see the show page for specific audition instructions.
• Auditioners under the age of 18 are required to have parent/guardian consent to participate.

If you are not cast, we welcome your participation in backstage roles.
