Musical Theatre Workshop

Can you hear the people sing about a hard knock life? 
Taught by Alicia Willard, musician, composer, collaborative pianist, vocal coach, and more! Learn some of the great musical theatre numbers you love and some you don't know. Exclusively for middle and high school students, the 2-week workshop includes singing, staging, and more - ending in a final performance on Saturday, Aug 10, 2pm.
Registration is limited. 

This class has a $25 non-refundable cancellation fee due to required music purchases. If a class is canceled by MAC before it begins, the entire paid amount will be refunded.

Group Violin Lessons

Instructor: Dr. Laura Eakman          

Ages: 4-12           Cost: $120 (w/violin rental) or $96 (w/o violin)

Day: Mondays      Dates: Sept 16-Dec 9 (12 sessions, no class Nov 25)

Times: Foundations: 4:30-5:00    
Beginnings: 5:05-5:35    
Adventures: 5:40-6:10     
Choir: 6:15-6:45

Per group size max: 10

On Monday, Sept 16, 4:30-5:30, everyone attends a parent/student meeting and will be fitted for their violin. Parents are encouraged to attend class so that they can help kids practice at home. Final recital will be Monday, Dec 9 at 5:30pm.

 

Students may be in the same group for multiple semesters or years, depending on their individual pace of learning. Group placements are made based on technical skill, repertoire learned, maturity level, and in consultation with the instructor.


  • Violin Foundations – Everyone new to the violin, regardless of age, takes this class, even if only for one semester. Learn the parts of the instrument, how to hold the bow and your body, and be introduced to simple songs and rhythms.
  • Violin Beginnings – For students who have played before, this class uses games and simple songs to solidify technique. 
  • Violin Adventures – Students move at a faster pace and learn more complicated songs and techniques.
  • Violin Choir – For students who are beginning to read music and are learning to play in an ensemble. Students play in unison and in parts.
