An Introduction to the Batdorf Technique Part I
Join internationally renowned theater creator/director/performer and master teacher of Movement for Actors, Erika Batdorf (www.batdorf.org) and K-State’s dance faculty member, Kate Digby, for a workshop on improving emotional authenticity through physical practice. The workshop is appropriate for actors, dancers, singers, clowns, and performance artists as well as for those practicing drama therapy, or yoga.

An Introduction to The Batdorf Technique Part II
Participants in The Batdorf Technique morning session may also sign up for the afternoon session which will include bringing the interoceptive awareness technique into set material. Please bring a short piece of memorized performance material (e.g. audition monologue, choreography excerpt, song, poem) to work with.

Register by calling Manhattan Arts Center at 785-537-4420. Registration deadline is Friday, July 21st at 2pm. Workshop is subject to minimum enrollment and may be canceled due to low enrollment. If minimum enrollment is met by the deadline, day of registration will be available from 9-9:20am on July 22nd for an additional $5.

Develop acting skills as we focus on the techniques of Stanislavsky, Uta Hagen, and Sanford Meisner in a class designed to help you with character development, blocking, voicing, and improvisation. The class ends with an “informance” of scenes worked on in class.
