Drawing & Painting

Cost: $100 Dates: Feb 18–Apr 15 (8 weeks, no class Mar 11)
For students interested in working on drawing and painting skills. Design, techniques, composition, creativity, and craftsmanship will be taught. Students will work in different mediums such as pencil, chalk, ink, paint, etc.
After School Clay I & II
Instructor: Vickey Grochowski
Cost: $110 ea. session (includes clay)
Dates: Session I—Jan 29-Mar 5 (6 weeks);
Session II—Apr 2-May 7 (6 weeks)
We’ll explore handbuilding and some wheel work as we learn to make clay art! There will be work in coil, slab, pinch, and more.
Youth Honors Academy

Time: 4:15-5:45 pm Grades: 7-12
Cost: $70 per month
Dates: Ongoing Instructor approval required for registration. Drawing, painting, collage and mixed media for serious young artists. The curriculum is designed for the current students' needs and interests. Prospective students must submit a portfolio and complete a short interview with the instructor. Art Classes (for ages 14+)
Dates: Jan 22-Feb 26 Time: 6:30 pm-8:30 pm
Drawing is the foundation of all art! This class is for beginning students or those who would like a good review. Learn line drawing, pencil techniques, perspective, colored pencil skills, ink skills, etc. Come and learn the basics and enjoy drawing for the rest of your life.
Dates: Jan 16-Feb 20 Time: 6:30 pm-9:00 pm
Class is for acrylic, oil, watercolor, and pastel painters working to continue developing their skills while working in their chosen medium (basic supplies available for use, but students are encouraged to bring their preferred supplies). The teacher will be there to answer questions and work on creating good habits. There will be new ways to approach projects through the presentation of works and class critiques.
Dates: Mar 20-Apr 24 Time: 6:30 pm-9:00 pm
Do your acrylic paintings look “out of whack?” This class will take you on a journey from how to stretch canvases to a completed acrylic project. Tools, equipment, and different types of paint will be presented. All supplies are furnished but the goal of the class is to encourage students to begin building their own supply. Come and learn the basics or, for experienced painters, come for review and new tips & tricks.
Dates: Apr 2-May 7
Time: 6:30 pm- 8:30 pm
Participants will work on projects they develop. The instructor will guide students through completing one or two projects, depending on the complexity of the subject. Students will learn by participating, through teacher input, and by observing others as they work and have discussion with the instructor and group.
Mid-Day Art Work Group
Instructor: Robert Hubbard Days: Mondays & Thursdays Time: 11:00 am-2:00 pm Cost: $1 per session or $5 per month A time set aside for people to come and work on 2-D art projects. Anyone attending at least 20 sessions will qualify to exhibit at least two works in the spring studio exhibits. There will be an art expert on hand to lend advice if wanted. No registration is required. No credit cards accepted, cash or check only. Pay at the studio.
